You may have noticed a change to the packaging of your Nambarrie, hopefully you find it easier to use than the old packs. In producing these new packs we have also looked for ways to reduce environmental impact.
At least 45% of the new carton is made from recycled materials with the remainder of the carton sourced from FSC-certified forests. This means that the Forest Stewardship Council check forests are managed sustainably for our future timber requirements whilst protecting the environment and the lives of people dependent on the forests. For more information on the FSC and its work please visit www.fsc-uk.org. In the meantime we are actively looking at ways to increase the percentage of recycled materials we use in our cartons.
We want to make sure every cup of Nambarrie tastes great and worried with our large packs of Nambarrie tea that the last teabag might not be as fresh as the first. So in our new carton we decided to wrap each set of 40 teabags in a protective film. However we didn't want to add more plastic to landfill sites, so instead we've used a special film that biodegrades, called NatureFlex™ A first for the British tea industry, NatureFlex™ is made from wood pulp and can be disposed of in a home composting unit or in normal waste. Like our teabags, the film completely degrades in approximately 15 weeks in normal composting conditions so you can be happy in the knowledge that you're having a great cup of Nambarrie tea without damaging the environment.
Once you've enjoyed that last great cup of tea in the box, please help care for the environment by recycling the carton - it's fully recyclable like all of our carton boxes.
