Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the UK's largest charities. This year, it celebrates 60 years of groundbreaking work in the battle against cancer. In this year alone, the charity will supply vital support for 27,000 terminally ill patients in the community and in Marie Curie hospices.

With 10 hospices across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, two palliative care research centres and the world-renowned Marie Curie Research Institute, the charity works tirelessly to investigate and treat cancer in its many forms. And, since 2004, Marie Curie Cancer Care has been campaigning for more patients to make the choice to be cared for at home.

The services offered are always free of charge to patients and their families, which means that - in a single year - £115 million needs to be raised to cover costs.

About 70% of the charity's income comes from the support of thousands of individuals, organisations and businesses.
